I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

Depends on the person you are reporting to. Fund accounting and fund operations are not that complicated. You will do some basic tasks. If you feel that your manager will be willing to teach you and help you then it should be fine. Are you going to report to a controller? Or directly to the cfo? If controller and no staff under you I think its ok.
I think I will report to the Controller and the team only has 3 people based on the interviews.
Don’t sell yourself short. Smart people problem solve and figure things out. That’s what they’re hiring, or hoping to hire from B4.
Sounds like a fancy title for a position that is likely fairly simple at 3years experience. Don’t worry about it.
If you're a Senior 2 you do have 3+ years in accounting
They did ask me about team management, which I said: “yes I do manage staffs in multiple engagements”... I don’t think that’s equivalent to managerial experience, or maybe I’m worrying too much
You are selling yourself short and are more capable than you think. Also, maybe filling that position has been competitive so they are expanding their search.
You are at a big 4.. you would be surprised by how much more you know than what you think and what some people in industry know. You are very valuable. Get at least a $20k increase.
It’s a title honestly. My client the assistant controller has 7-10 years of experience, senior fund accountant is like 3-7. You have to look at the size of the firm and what you’ll be doing day to day
