Not surprised, the people I know who work at Deloitte in my city are always unassigned. Seems like they’re very, very over staffed. At least the office in my city is. Very sorry to hear this though and hope not too many are impacted!

Wow... at least it’s only 5% for y’all. As someone who’s been laid off before, this will pass. You’ll get something soon enough
Enthusiast
Only 5% sounds a lot worse when you think about how many humans are going to be unemployed. My employer cut 30%, but it was ~300 people. Of course it also sucks but it's not as bad as this

Sorry to hear that

Im surprised the Tax CEO called it layoffs. As per Dan, I thought we were not allowed to call it layoffs lol
Nah, just ‘extended abandonment’

Did Deloitte US partners take a pay cut and are employees still getting YE bonuses? Or is this the first lever they are pulling?
Partners are taking a big hit. There will be a big hit to raises, too. Definitely trying to spread the pain. Also, minimizing layoffs where possible leaves the firm better positioned for projected rebound.
Steve Kimble, Tax CEO
Nope - across the entire firm but the communication was done by business line.
What’s the link to Deloitte bowl?
Did you ever find it? I can't find it either!

@SA2 tax compliance is generally ok but any sort of planning or consulting might be hit. M&A activity has also ground to a halt.

Yes, confirmed. Happening first 2 weeks of June.
Firmwide. All businesses + EA, approx 5% overall
Firmwide? I haven't seen anything about layoffs for Audit/Advisory for DT..

All other big 4 to follow I’m sure. All in all 5% isn’t too bad given the current climate and probably isn’t much worse than normal performance dismissals though.
We won some huge PPP engagements
Yep just received the news. As someone who just started here 2 months ago I’m not sure how to feel. Appears to be 5% across the entire firm.
Depends on what area you’re going into - some skill sets are still needed right now and although there is a hiring freeze there are exceptions. Best of luck to you
OW! That hurts
First out of all big 4
5% layoffs and 1.5% of reduced schedule
Thanks for the clarification
Firm wide?

Last year it was in waves. I think the Talent Lead is on all the calls so it takes time to meet with people for the separation discussions and some may get delayed based on project needs
Oh sorrrry
.....
Damn
Damn, sorry to hear. Have good friends over at Deloitte...
