Worked at both -
Booz:
Pros: decent WLB (depending on team), good 401k match
Cons: mostly staff aug work, very low salary in general
Deloitte:
pros: salary and benefits far outweigh Booz, caliber of people and work are also much higher
Cons: not personally for me, but hours tend to be higher on the average (I went from 50 avg at Booz to 45 avg at Deloitte), lower 401k match.
I went from SC at Booz to C at Deloitte for a 40% increase in base, then a 15% yearly bonus on top of that
Human capital
Deloitte Fed (gps) to Booz’s Defense Business. Same-ish work, I went from 100 to 120 but work much less (by about 10 hours) and I think Booz has a stronger portfolio of defense strategy work.
Pro: 1) more access to high level defense 2) better work life 2.5) may not be booz specific, but more money when jumping in this industry 3) im intrigued by these rumors of Booz defense folks collaborating with commercial’s new A&D vertical. I’m bull on Booz’s brand differentiation in that commercial market
Con: 1) I think booz drives lower margins than D, 2) no bonuses till SA wtf ... but I guess whatever, my base is more than bonuses I was making at D
Also, you can mention what you got offered at the other firm, which practice you were in and went too.
