Did anyone do an MBA or a more specialized masters of supply chain? What made you choose between the two? I am strongly thinking of getting either as I want to credentialize myself, I’m already a SC consultant . Wanted your take.

Did an MBA. When applying, I knew I wanted consulting but was not clear on what type. Learned SC at school. Since you’re already solid on the SC knowledge, an MBA would complement with strong management, strategy, and leadership skills if you’re aiming for higher positions.
FYI if you are trying to immediately jump rungs in the ladder - most recruiters hire for Senior Consultant levels out of MBA.

If you’re up for promotion to manager level, i would wait to go back to school until after that happens. if you still want to change directions after the promo, you could come out of that program with better chances of reentering the market at a high level

I did a MBA focused on Supply Chain with about 16 years of consulting supply chain experience. Supply Chain is vast and I am passionate about it, but frequently focus on one area. I found the classes helpful for the part, some were really easy, others I learned quite a bit. Now I have an MBA that checks the box.

Doing a MSCM (Master of Supply Chain Management) at Penn State right now. I preferred it over the mba path since I wanted something more specialized and financially worth it. Did an undergrad in supply chain as well and already in consulting (tech).

I am currently in an MBA program; my undergrad is in Supply Chain and have 15+ years of Procurement & Supply Chain experience. I chose the MBA program to get more insights into non-SCM areas such as leadership, finance, digital marketing, and business analytics. I have been working in a Finance role for the last several months to further broaden my experience.

Hi. I’m in need of advice and encouragement. I’m currently working as a public defender(2nd year) but I would love to pursue a solo private practice. I would like to leave the public defender because I am ready to make more money and I am no longer feeling the fulfillment I once felt. I have a family and work-life balance is a priority. What is a good way to gain experience in other areas of law as a solo practitioner? What areas of law are best for maintaining a work-life balance?

Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. My niche area has really burnt me out, as it’s very political and I want to expand my horizons. I am already working on completing my GPHR certification. Any other tips?

Questions about job hopping-
My average tenure at a company is ~1.5 years (with ~11 YOE), but each jump I've made has yielded progressive/tangible career growth.

I'm concerned after my most recent jump (went from a product director to a head of product position at a different, smaller company after only a year) that I've kind of poisoned future career prospects at larger companies.

Any insights on whether this type of job hopping is a complete deal breaker for potential HMs?

Hello fishes.
I'm a fresher and I recently joined one of the big4 as a senior analyst.
I am given sap as my competency, but honestly I'm not finding it interesting. I was hoping to shift to data analytics(python, sql, etl, powerbi, advanced excel... Working with these techs).
I have knowledge in python and sql. I also have some development skills, reactjs and stuff(not relevant to data analytics).
Should I increase my skill set before starting to apply to other firms?

Hi all, looking for advice on… well everything career related 😔 it’s the “great resignation” and people are moving on to better things all around me. I’ve been actively searching and interviewing for at least 6 months, and no offers after final round. I’m struggling to stay motivated to search and fake enthusiasm in interviews, and I’m still increasingly miserable in my new job. I think I need a career coach - any solid recos? Or is it even a career coach I need to help me get on track?

We have another company taking over in January, but I still have some pretty important dev needs until then and I can’t get him to do a thing. I truly try to give him all he needs.
