We went and looked at a venue and both loved it, my SO is saying we should book it, but I'm hesitant since we are not engaged yet, but he is saying it's happening very soon. I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

It's exhausting... Thoughts?

How many married professionals with young families are just sticking it out “for the kids”? Marriage is very dead and has been for a while. Young kids 4 and 1. My wife and I don’t fight, but share 0 interests outside of the kids and can’t stand to be around each other. I’m so ready to leave… I just can’t bear the thought of doing it to my children even though another part of me feels like wife and I would both be better parents if our lives were separate. Teaching has taken over so much. I’m a wife and mother and still have a home life, but there is nothing outside of work and home. I have no friends, no other activities, no escape. Covid restrictions do not help. I know it’s not healthy to only focus on everyone else, but I’m not sure what to do about it. I have only sporadic time opportunities and I don’t even know what I enjoy doing anymore. When trying to do other stuff I can’t turn off mom or teacher brain.

Anyone here ever been scared by some major differences in materialism with your partner? I’ve been considered “boujee” by some friends but my girlfriend of just over a year is on a whole other level. Lately because of many of her friends getting engaged / married, rings have been mentioned and she’s said pretty much she wouldnt be happy with under 25k.

This is a question about friendships. Two friends got into a really bad fight this past weekend. They have each asked me to hang out this weekend. What do I do? I don’t want to have to choose sides. One is a friend I’ve known a little longer and has been a good friend and so she would feel betrayed and angry if she knew I were still friends with her now-enemy. The other I’ve known less longer, but we seem more compatible. Advice??

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)
