Do agencies still ask for references when hiring? I have worked at 4 agencies. It only happened to my once, and it felt so awkward asking people. If yes, is that before or after the offer letter?

For remote folks: am I more likely to find a remote role that allows me to move around multiple times during my tenure at a big FAANG-like company, or a startup? what are things I should look out for in my search?

I got a call from KPMG HR for the role of Associate consultant in research team, When she asked me about the expected ctc, I think I quoted less than the market standards but since I am underpaid currently so the amount I quoted was 40-45% hike on my fixed. I have experience of 2.9years
Can anybody please suggest if I clear their interviews will they consider increasing CTC from whatever I quoted becase upon searching for ACon roles they pay much higher than what I quoted.

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Any advice for presenting somebody else’s work? I’ve been stretched thin on different projects but have to present in place of some of on vacation with little time to prepare.

I've never worked on anything for TikTok and hope I never have to. TikTok is from hell. I was on it one time for about 10 minutes and could feel myself becoming mentally unwell in just those 10 minutes. The human brain is not designed to deal with the sheer amount of sensory overload that app gives you. I'm pretty sure TikTok is one of the main reasons we are constantly hearing about how much Gen Z struggles with mental health.
