My father passed away last week. I had wills written up for him, he has a small c corp, and we don’t live in a community property state. Mom’s still with us, fortunately.
Besides informing social security, filing a life insurance claim, getting a death certificate, flagging his credit card, and starting the probate process, is there anything else I need to do immediately (in a financial/regulatory sense)?
I’ve been following the guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/death_of_loved_one/ but others guidance is always appreciated.
Newbie to investing and never invested in a company that went through a reverse stock split.
In theory, I understand the market value should increase but I’m not seeing this reflected in the price and naturally my book value/ share is very disappointing.
A) When should I anticipate the stock appreciation to occur?
B) What’s the next move for companies that do this? Issue more shares?
TIA!

I Will be Joining PWC AC B as SA2 on Sept 2,2022. Just want to know about Appraisal cycle. Is it Mid Year or Annual appraisal process. Also, will I be eligible for next appraisal cycle ? Tried asking the same Question to HR, but didn't get a proper response. She just mentioned as per company policy.

Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

I definitely think it's possible but the odds are slim. It's like is it possible to make a living from being a Twitch Streamer? Yes, for a very small group of people. I guess you'll never know until you give it your all, but I don't consider it a really viable path for myself
If you're smart and disciplined, it's certainly possible. If you get your trading advice from r/wallstreetbets and are only interested in 1000% returns, probably not.
It's like your best friend telling you he won $2,000 on a slot machine last night, but leaving out the fact that he walked in the casino with $10,000 in his pocket and walked out with $10. Gamblers only remember the wins. That's why they keep gambling.
What does an investment analyst do?
Yeah. If you have a couple million dollar base.
Don’t bet your livelihood on consistently achieving 25%+ returns in the market.
Also depends upon base pool of money and how much risk you take
I personally trade options for weekend spending money when I have a high conviction on something. I’m currently looking at NU calls.
If you have millions in stock, you could make a living on covered calls/wheel strategy. Which is low/no risk.
Straddle can work sometimes too, to reduce risk.
Regular ol’ speculative calls and puts? Incredibly difficult and risky to be consistent, takes a lot of discipline, experience, and luck. For most the house wins in the end.
Straddles to reduce risk? Would love to hear more.
A month ago I found out my husband blew our hard earned life savings of over $1m (including rainy day fund) in options trading the last few years. He even gave himself a cardiac arrest. True story. Risk management clearly is not his strong suit.
Don’t ruin your life chasing gains, protect your assets and your marriage and play with only a specific amount.
Just sell RGTI puts all day.
I only do options for a living. I still have habits that I like to do to entertain the mindset.
