Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. I don’t think this is necessarily a “work travel” question. It’s not standard but I have heard of tipping the cleaning staff at hotels because they are often the least thought about but are the backbone of the industry.

But I wouldn’t question if you were doing the right or wrong thing. It’s definitely NOT a tipped position
I do travel for work on occasion and I don’t tip at hotels. I think the hotels I generally stay at for work are just your average hotel that people don’t regularly tip at. But now I’m second guessing if and who I should be tipping. Any insight?
I’m The same boat I stayed with a coworker and she tipped housekeeping $10 cash in the room at the end of our stay. It was just a normal Marriott basic place. So now I’m questioning everything!
I do occasionally travel for work, and I make an effort to tip hotels whenever I can. Although it's a small gesture, I think it goes a long way toward expressing gratitude for the service sector. How about you?

Most hotels I stay in are so self-service, not sure whom I would tip. Cleaning crew maybe? How do I know they cleaned the room and did not just do the bare minimum?
If you get daily housekeeping, then maybe a small tip will do. Most hotels don’t do that anymore to cut costs and only do turn-downs every 3 nights.
Hotel stays are pricey enough that I’m not tipping if I don’t get any additional service. If I get room service, eat at the restaurant, have someone help me with bags then, yes I will tip those individuals that served me.
Yes do tip for the cleaning staff..
