The proposed regulation would remove the backdoor loophole, yes. If that happens we’ll see, but it shouldn’t impact this strategy with current funds

like

The same way you make it grow in any account

like

Build up a ROTH so you can draw on it early if you retire early. Then when you have enough switch to traditional.

Just do both but early in career favor Roth and vice versa

Roth is pretty difficult over like $140k right?

Don’t confuse IRA and 401k -

For IRA: any high earners (most consultants) will not be able to do a traditional IRA and deduct it, so there’s no reason to do so. The only other option for growing an IRA is a backdoor Roth.

For 401k: there are no income restrictions, just contribution limits of $19.5k. Whether you choose Roth or traditional is up to you

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?

Hi Guys,
Need your advice. I have forgot to enter challan details while filing tax and then e-verified then it return with pay later option, though i had paid the income tax first first hand via pay now option.

Will i get outstanding demand plus need to pay penalty for late payment in this case?
Also when will i receive the outstanding payment notice if it happens?

Anyone using Edward Jones? Feel like we did a mistake and rolled over all my husbands retirement accounts from different employers and our kids 529 under them Jan 2020. Since then market is down and accounts lost20%. But the fees every month is pretty high around $200. I am worried to move it to fidelity or some other place and manage myself(not very confident), then I have to sell all of the Edward Jones managed funds and buy new. sell low buy low makes sense but don’t want to loose anymore.

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio. Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. So this goes both ways.

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.

I'm a Canadian on the TN visa working in the US and planning on maxing my Roth IRA (6k) and will have enough left to max my 401k this year, but am not sure if I should just use a taxable account over 401k due to tax considerations when I move back to Canada (likely 1-2 years from now). Any thoughts here? I don't think I'll have enough RRSP room to move 401k>IRA>RRSP and I would prefer to not have to file US taxes every year in retirement for withdrawls if I left the 401k in the US.
