I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

I’m soooo ready to fly again!
Flying > work from home .......... > Work from office
Honestly I can't put my faith in flying again until the airlines install better air filtration systems on airplanes. The recent news of the NBC virologist reporter suspecting that he caught covid on a flight should raise concerns.
With that said, I would to prefer work from the local office in addition to work from home instead of flying to client sites.
Agreed. These are the subways of the sky. I’ve known they were cesspools for years. The perfect disease transmission vector. Until they can get them cleaner (UV lights/aggressive protocols/distancing) I’m not setting foot on a commercial flight.
I enjoy working from home when it’s the exception. I miss the separation from work and home. I’m over this.
I was learning so much being around senior managers and partners every day. Now I interact with very few people on a day to day basis and don’t feel like I’m growing professionally even while staffed. I wanted this job solely for the training and interaction with clients. Would rather take an exit opportunity and get paid more to do the same thing
I love WFH. It’s really just the other aspects of quarantine that make it bad- can’t go to restaurants or coffee shops, can’t see friends, no shows to go see.
That said, when coronavirus is over eventually, it of course won’t be 100% WFH. Some things work better in person. However, as my project at least is demonstrating, you can get the vast majority of stuff done remotely
I like wfh, but miss traveling a lot.
WFH is nice, but not when it's constant. I think one week on, one week off could be a good mix going forward.
