Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. So much I hate going in to the office, my monitors at home are bigger and better quality.
Same, but my boss still doesn't understand why I am more productive when I work from home
Yes and I love it!!!
Yes, I have 2 monitors mounted with a USB-C docking station that also charges my laptop. It’s so much easier to be productive.
I too have been looking for a good USB-C docking station!
Every networking event I attend there will be one person that will sneak in a quick flex about their work setup at home and gets the whole group riled up about their home office setups. I prefer to work from home too. You can easily find good deals for 27-28in monitors these days.
Absolutely. My husband and I have a dedicated room for our home office. I have a standing desk ($500), nice ergonomic chair ($250+), two monitors, docking station, printer, standing mat, wireless keyboard/mice. My office at home is way nicer than the EY office (bonus negative points to EY hotelling system).
Not the commentor, but I'd recommend going to Staples or similar office store (or Ikea, decent chairs) and just sit in them and figure out what you like.
I got a full office set up at home and I love it. You can search for it used and may be able to get it at a good discounted price.
Any recommendations on what I should get? I’m seriously contemplating picking up what I need today 😂
@PwC 2 - what is the office chair you are using?
Yup two 26” monitors, docking station, and an Aeron chair from Craigslist. I hate going into the office so much when all I do is sit on calls. Unless I’m in need of work I’m staying home until this corona shit blows over.
Yep. I have two full size monitors (they're actually from the office-we got to take old ones home when they replaced a bunch of them), a keyboard/mouse that came together (from Costco)-haven't actually used the keyboard yet, a desk and office chair from Ikea. Definitely beats sitting at the kitchen table with a travel monitor.
See I’m hoping to luck up on some free monitors 😂
I don’t use multiple screens (just too old I guess) but I have a huge monitor and almost as important, a full size key board with built in 10key and a real mouse. I don’t even open my laptop. With the laptops having so few ports these days, it’s nice having a mouse and keyboard work off the same USB port because they are both Logitech.
It’s not an age thing - I’m 50 and use two monitors and my husband is 48 and uses 3. The dual monitor is a game changer.
You have multiple monitors at work?? Lucky..
I have 2 24 inch AOC HD monitors - and I have a combo mouse and keyboard, the combo uses just one USB port.
Yes and I work better at home because if it. The screens are also bigger than the office monitors. No regrets! Also got a great Black Friday deal on both.
Yup, pretty proud of it too. This coming from a total geek though. Traded my PC gaming rig for 100% productivity. Got my 30 inch curved display, with my keychron k4 wireless mechanical keyboard and my Logitech MX master 3. Honestly used to never be able to focus at home but once the pressure and stress builds up I eventually got the self control part down.
HDMI chord + tv
Three screens - laptop, 27” and 32”. Fantastic! Also have the Serta office chair. You won’t regret it
