Exit strategy is such a myth!

I’m disappointed with a recent offer from Salesforce. I know the base can go higher for this role and I am worth more than what’s being offered! Unfortunately the recruiter asked me my current salary and I responded but my current salary is an average for my current role (although I am a v.high performer per the last 2 years ratings) and could be the result of old biases. Any tips to make sure I get what I deserve.

One is a lateral move to a position with about 30% pay bump; the career path is to grow eventually to controller in a finance/accounting department of an education organization. The other one is about 50% pay and title bump to manager in industry where the ceiling will be capped at VP of tax. What do you think?

I applied for two jobs at the same business about a month ago. I received a denial for one position but no word regarding the other position (which I’m more suitable for). What does this mean?
