EY vs BDO vs Marcum. If the offer from these three are very similar, which one should I pick?

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

My experience with BDO is not horrible at all! It all depends on what office and location you will be and the review is somewhat very bias.
BDO broadly has bad employee reviews? I’m not saying BDO doesn’t have its challenges; however, I’m ex-EY, and I like it better here. I would say you go where you feel like you’ll have the best partner mentors around you and strongest team.
Is this serious?
I absolutely remember the media making a big deal when kpmg did the exact same thing 3 years ago. It was old news in two weeks- just as it’s already fading from the news here (no new articles from major networks in 3 days).
No one really cares- audit is check-the-box; you work with whoever makes it easiest, and changing auditors is a HUGE headache.
Tbh, if EY didn’t see a hiccup after wirecard- a fundamental failure of the audit- I don’t know what would cause problems.
This is a no-brainer. 2/3 years from now, no one looks at your resume and goes
“oh shoot, you joined EY after that SEC fine we can’t hire you” but I tell you a lot of those sweet companies have “Big4 preferred” on their job descriptions.
Spin off is 3 or 4 years away so you can jump again.
However, if where ever you go you intend to make partner, then that adds a different layer
Yup. Pretty standard in our industry
EY
Wouldn’t worry about the SEC news, and the split won’t happen for 3-5 years which by that time, you can jump again
EY any day over other firms. You work with smart people, better training, good client base. Exposure you get is different than small size or midsize firm. Current EY news should not bother you. Media magnifies everything. Just think about basic !
If you’re already a senior manager I’d go smaller firm for faster promo. Make one of them give you a timeline, then go there.
EY 1000% the quality of the people and the work is incomparable to BDO (speaking from experience)
For better W/L balance go to marcum, if you’re interested in prestige and career progression then go to EY (the SEC fine will be forgotten tomorrow).
Friedman is merging into marcum not the other way around so no looming changes because of the merger. It’s a decent company.
Agree with this, actually boomeranged back last year
BDO offered a managing director position while others offered SM. My biggest concern is that it is a remote position.
I'd take MD
Do you have 3 offers right now? I would take EY because having a B4 on resume goes a long way if you ever want to jump.
BDO full stop!
