At what point do you fire a client? I have a 49 yr old client w/drawing $50K out of a $72K IRA (trad) to “pay off her home”, a move I completely disagree with/advise against.

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

How do you handle it when a direct report reacts negatively during a performance review?

I’m beyond irritated by one of my coworkers. Just so disorganized, doesn’t show up to meetings, doesn’t reply to emails, constantly have to chase him, miss deadlines because of him. Did first set of redlines for a partner. Have ten years experience doing what this partner does but I am new to working with him. Said I did about a 7 out of 10 on that job. Have you ever been told off by an older attorney of color? We have one Black partner at our firm and in conversation with him this morning he told me I should work on sounding and looking "more professional" and not let my "tone" or "bad attitude" get in the way. I don't think I've ever had a bad attitude at work, and whatever "tone" I'm speaking in it's my normal one. As a Black woman I just feel super weird about it and kind of sad.

I am an account manager. More on the Operation side than sales.
