Your enemy isn’t the worker you think is in a better spot than you. It’s the boss that won’t pay you what you’re worth.
At larger companies, salary decisions are made by structural systems such as HR. Often, your direct supervisor has little say than offering the standard 3% raise.
Babes your coworkers are not your enemy.
And most companies pay those remote workers VASTLY less than they pay folks in NYC and other major markets. They aren’t paid based on talent or job - the Salaries are based on where you live.
Especially WPP.
Living in close proximity to real competition not only sharpens you, it inspires you. It’s no coincidence that the best talent usually are in big cities.
I’m confused about the argument that’s being made here. I feel like it’s to move to the Midwest?
