Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

I'm always looking at wnw and talking to people who reach out to me or post freelancing openings on LinkedIn or NYC ad jobs. I email recruiters usually only when I am currently available, sometimes during the last week when I'm wrapping up a current gig. I don't hide my phone conversations from the place I'm currently at, but I try not to broadcast them either (ie take the call in the lobby instead of at your desk).
You don’t usually interview.
@Leo there's sometimes a phone chat involved though.
You are now in business for yourself, so you are ALWAYS ‘looking’ for a new gig. This doesn’t mean that you are actively responding to FL posts. It means that while you are in a gig, you are working on building your brand and gaining broader exposure for yourself (e.g. getting on the radar of creative resource managers). Also, it never hurts to have frank conversations with your clients about how long they’ll need you so you can plan accordingly. Good luck.
