Going dress shopping soon, yay!! Do you think booking appointments at 3 boutiques/stores is ok? I don’t want to go to too many stores and have decision paralysis or feel pressured to make a decision.

Yes, it’s great to visit different stores as they’ll have slightly different styles. Make sure you have enough time between appointments and have a couple styles in mind that you can show your stylist at the start of your appointment. Some stores may limit you to the number of dresses you can try on.

like

Yes doing 2 on one day and 1 on another! Thanks for the advice!

Yes, I think 3 is an appropriate number. I had an unpopular style I wanted so each store only had a handful of options. I would take pictures of your favorites at each store including the price tag so you remember and then go home and make a decision.

like

Yes! Have you a stylist write down the prices of your favorites!

I went back a week or two later to buy my dress and the price had gone up 10%. Luckily the stylist was able to honor the price when I tried it on initially, since she had record of it.

I visited sooo many stores. You only get to go wedding dress shopping once so I took full advantage of it and went by myself, with my mom, with different friends, with my mil. I loved the process and didn’t find it more difficult to pick just because I tried lots of options. Once I tried on the dress I just knew.

like

3 makes sense, but I’d also say don’t be opposed to getting one before you go to all three if it feels right!

like

3 is perfect!
I must have tried on 80+ dresses and towards the end it was bad - everything was blurring, I couldn’t tell what I loved, definitely too many options. 3 shops seems perfect

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Looking for some mental health advice - I’ve been dealing with pretty debilitating anxiety/panic attacks for over 5 years. Finally started to get some help for it through medication, however the first 3 meds my PCP prescribed me (ssris) didn’t work. Because I haven’t deal with the anxiety it’s gotten really bad. Do I go to a pyscitatrist whose trained more in pharma or start with therapist. Have done therapy in past without much help.

The stress of this job ruined my life.
The stress has lead to an eating disorder that I can’t get control of. I’ve lost 25 pounds since starting at the firm two and a half years ago. I am 20 pounds less than I was in high school... I don’t know how to get control again. Even when the stress lays off I can’t eat more due to being used to being busy for almost 9 months out of the year...

So, we have a wedding registry and my fiance and I would really like people to stick to gifting us what's on that registry. Yet, people keep asking what they should get us. My partner and I are planning to elope. We want the wedding and the trip that will go with it to be for us. That being said, we want to throw a party of some kind to celebrate with our friends. We're pretty lost as far as the general etiquette around this goes. Do you have to tell venues it's for a "wedding" reception? Is it expected that we will still make a gift registry?

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)
