Bain & Company I received an offer to join Bain & Company for SF office but due to family reasons, I will have to stay in the South Bay. Given Bain’s local staffing model, it will be challenging for me to commute to SF and back. Is it possible to be transferred to the palo alto office/is that office fully functioning or does it mainly serve as a hub for partners and research?

I would avoid criticizing your current firm and just highlight what excites you about MBB. General examples below:
1) L&D opportunities - give examples of the training opportunities you’ve heard about (although agree with A1 that I wouldn’t put this first)
2) Broader range of case work across industries at C-Suite level
3) Growth opportunities (promotions every two years)
4) People (personal connections to firm you’ve made throughout recruiting or during previous career/education)
Fully recognize OW has some (or even most) of these to an extent but would still avoid bashing your old firm.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard us ask such a thing. People always want to come to MBB, so it’s usually more about what you’re looking for in the new firm, not why you’d leave somewhere else.
We would literally never ask this. We don’t care.

Yeah - WE ALREADY KNOW WHY!
Would it be bad to say, firm doesn’t focus on L&D as much as I’d like or too negative?
That’s not negative but a strange answer tbh
