Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Speaking as someone who has both been laid off and had to fire, HR typically requests managers only put these things on the calendar same-day or within 24 hours to avoid you getting suspicious and doing something malicious. (Gross rhyme, sorry fishies.) There may be changes, but it seems unlikely they're related to your staying with the company.
Hey guys thanks for all the support 👏! I can honestly say each and one you really helped me get through this. Found myself checking back in and smiling at your comments. The short of it is I was given a "performance warning." I need to pick it up a notch. Definitely not in a good spot right now, and feeling on edge. But your comments are greatly appreciated.
Plot twist: what if the senior director is on Fishbowl and saw this post?
OP, was it in writing? Is this a Performance Improvement Plan? If so, this means you you have 30 days (or whatever the document you signed said) to find a new job. Do everything you can to hang onto your job, but you should be actively looking.
Why do you think you are going to be fired? Any poor feedback on your recent work? Been pulled from a project or been unbillable for a while? If not you are probably okay.
No one is safe at Cp+b
This is going to keep me up all night.
Keep us posted on what happened. Worried for you. But also it might just be a catch-up to see if everything's okay because something happened or sometime said something (but doesn't mean you're fired). I'm permanently paranoid so I get the fear, though.
You're just after the start of the next pay cycle. They would've laid you off last week.
Seriously! We need to know...
Love, your FB fam
@OP hang in there. Talk to management and see what you can do to get things sorted. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
Yea, start actively looking now. There are always ways we can all improve. But sometimes a better fit will play better to your strengths.
The last catch up I had was a raise... Although I agree, I hate it when they pull this shit.
^^Havas' experience has been mine too. 24 hrs notification. But its just after the first of the month ans they like to look like champs by "giving" you a month of healthcare (you paid for it). how buttoned-up is your HR? Keep us posted. Usually 4 weeks per year unless you have an employee agreement.
What Havas and Mediavest said, except I wouldn't expect more than two weeks per year worked. Wouldn't hurt to do a drive by their office today or tomorrow and ask if there's anything you should do to prepare for the meeting (aka - feel them out to see if you should be worrying)
^Havas makes a good point. I got laid off from my previous job and they sent me a calendar invite the night before. I hope everything ends up okay, and please do post if you need any help networking etc.
It's good to know cuz I work there too 🙁
Why do you think you're being laid off?! This doesn't sound suspicious to me at all. Probably some type of shifts in staffing or the agency lost an account or someone important is leaving or they want you to lead a new thing.
Group think is real
I really don't think this firing. Too much lead time. I usually do it with an hour or two notice.
The suspense....
@op make sure you get some clear steps you can take and some clear milestones so you at least have an idea of how you can get better and stop looking over your shoulder. The best thing you can do is take any constructive criticism offered and try to work hard on that. Good luck!
