Got an entry level offer from CapCo but my dad got me an interview at Kearney. Wheels seem to be greased at Kearney cause of my dads connections. Any chance I can use this to increase the offer from CapCo?

Tell me you’re privileged without telling me you’re privileged 😅 (sorry, I had to)

Can confirm, this is pretty funny

Just an FYI OP - you’ve got an interview with Kearney not an offer. I’ve interviewed multiple referrals and I can honestly tell you. Your dads connection got you an interview slot, but you’re in the exact same interview pool as everyone else. HR doesn’t inform us who is a referral or not, the first time we find out is usually during final decision reviews.

I’d 100% encourage you to interview, but please ensure you’re prepped and best positioned to succeed.

Go to Kearney. Capco got bought up so it’s a sinking ship

like

Is getting bought up necessarily a bad sign?

Do not work at Capco that place is a sweatshop

like

😂not surprised. But anyway, interview doesn't mean offer, even with connections. Why not try?

likefunny

Kearney is probably better but do you want to work where your dad is.

I've seen a few parent/kid combos and it seems to be fine even though we're kind of small as a firm

Don’t go to Capco. That’s the answer you’re looking for here.

like

Capco = crapco

@ATK if family friend is Snr partner there would OP have an easier time getting in?

ooooo

Yeah he told me to get an MBA and come back 🤣

(I'm happy at ACN)

however I wonder at OP's plan is

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. Trigger: rare illness post birth

Just sharing that I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia 3 days after giving birth despite not having risk factors or preeclampsia in my pregnancy. Sharing as I had absolutely no idea about this illness.

Main things to do are check your BP everyday at least the first ten days after you give birth, and go to hospital if it's very high (over 160/110). If you get severe headache or stomach ache then also be vigilant.

Happy to answer any questions!
