Had a bad showing for case interview about a month ago. I knew the material i just straight up had a bad day. Took feedback in exit interview and feel prepared to reapply for a different role with no cool off time… should I still wait or shoot my shot?

I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?

Congrats. Always ask for 20% more base. Worst they can say is no. Try to get bonus at 30%, will probably land at 25%. You'll never get another stock grant as big as this one. The yearly refreshers will come in at 25-35% of your salary on avg.
Always ask for more and negotiate. You have an offer as a starting point. Check other things like WFH, vacation time, sign in bonus, relocation, etc. From experience with other companies, base may not move much but they may give more on bonus. It never hurts to ask but be ready to know what to agree on.
Also, do let us know what the result was. And congratulations!
