My company recently changed my commission plan by capping half of our variable payout, resulting in the sales reps making roughly 30% less on commission checks when going over quota. Instead they told me I needed more training and hired me as a Junior account executive at a $50k salary + commission. Today is my 6th month mark and I have done very well. I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I’m pretty good at Salesforce and have thought about a SFDC admin type role, but that’s all I’ve thought of so far.

What do you do to fight burnout? Got a raise yesterday and will get another in September, for dealing with a lot of stuff, but I can't shake the burnout.

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.
