I had a school-related dream last night. For some reason I had to walk to work. I was walking along, minding my own business, singing Roy Orbison's greatest hits when I walked behind a parked 18-wheeler in front of the school and it backed up and ran over me. Not sure if that was a nightmare or a dream come true. Also not sure if it was accidental or had something to do with my singing.
😂😂😂 I hope the rest of your dreams this summer can be a bit less tragic! Maybe you can win the lottery or something, and then not have to go back to work? That’d be nice!
Oh gosh that's the worst possible dream lol. One of the main ways that I relax over the summer is just unplugging from technology and doing things that I enjoy like, reading, going to the beach, hiking, etc. It's nice to just be outside in the sun even if you'r just taking a nap, just try to find something that you enjoy doing and start with that.
I’ve never been a hiker, but this year, we are trying to go once a week. And I’ve actually really enjoyed it!! I think sunlight really is key, so thanks for that advice! I wish I lived near a beach, but we have plenty of lakes 😂 Maybe I need to take a trip to the coast! Unplugging is also a good idea. I feel more stressed when I’ve spent more time on my phone.
That's horrible! Are you thinking about school? I know a few years ago, I kept dreaming that students were disrupting my class, and I was very frustrated in my dream. The funny thing is I have really good classroom management, I'm not sure why I had that dream all summer.
Yes, I know. I try not to think about work during summer, but it's hard.
That is horrible.
I don’t have advice, but I do have sympathy. I’m two weeks into summer and I’m so happy now. I finally feel rested.
What kind of self care are you doing?
I binge watched TV. I even spent a couple of days in actual silence, just reading in the quiet. I also bought a dozen books to read this summer if I want. I’m giving myself grace to do or not do anything I want.
This year was rough. It sounds like yours was too. I’m so sorry. Nightmares and the end of summer “scaries” are the absolute worst. Together? Man!
I really hope you can find a way to pamper yourself and try to not start panicking until AT LEAST July 20th. We have just a whole month to ourselves now rest and recover before we even need to think about starting to panic again.
I love it!! It sounds like you’ve found some good ways to relax. My favorite past times are audiobooks. So I’ve done a lot of exercising and cleaning while listening to books. The best of the time I’ve spent doing things with my kids. I feel like I’m making good use of my time overall, but I do need to find a few more things that put my mind more at ease. What I really need is a good vacation 😂
