I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

They don’t actually look at you. They send out blanket emails to people who come up under key word searches. “ I am impressed by your resume! If interested, please send your resume!”
I had a phone call with an agency in LA that offered me a 3 month freelance role if I moved from NYC. I patiently explained why that seemed like a bad idea
It’s not the first time I’ve had that offer and it’s always combined with “we’ll probably need someone full time and if you’re here when the role opens...” please don’t dangle that carrot.
I pasted in a special, un-typeable character after my first name on LinkedIn. About 3/4ths of the messages I get from recruiters will have that special character in there. So I delete those messages.
That’s genius
I left my in house gig for an open ended contract at an agency. Ended up staying for 1.5 years and have moved on to way more opportunities bc of it!
I was offered a year and half contract role once, while I was full-time. Went back and forth over it for a couple weeks with the recruiter, finally decided I’d go for it and started to write my resignation letter the next morning. Phone rings at about 10am (I hadn’t handed in my written letter yet but was about to) and the entire contract was pulled at the last minute due to budget yadayada. That was a little too close for comfort. 😮
