Yes.
You will be on the phone a lot. It’s very much conversational and there’s no “deliverable.” However, the role is evolving at Gartner and there will be authorship expectations. I’d dig into that.
I have no idea what your current bonus target is, but Gartner is pretty good about bonuses. Other perks include an additional 5 days of PTO after 2yrs there, another 5 after another 2yrs… up to 35/yr, I think?
Downsides include that the company does not have a consulting mindset. Encountering a lot of broken or suboptimal processes (at a much higher rank than you’d be), I was regularly told “just deal with it” when I showed up with process improvement suggestions (that I was willing to take on.)
If you’re currently at a Big 4, you will likely find the pace slower and the people less go-go-go.
Closer to opinion pieces on trends and industry challenges. Basically written form of what you’d say to a client on a call. That said, most people I know in the role are at the director level. Senior analyst expectations may be very different.

How do you become a SME at 1.5 YOE?
SM1: former Gartner and could not agree more.
For reference I have 1.5 years of experience post college, and the salary is the same I currently make. In this potential role at Gartner, in 12-18 months you ‘graduate’ and become a principal, with a salary bump and etc.
Sounds like you're getting recruited for a Talent Lab type of role, which takes people who don't have many YOEs and trains them to be junior advisors. Or possibly you're getting recruited for a specialist role, which is more entry-level, where you are mostly figuring out either basic answers to questions or figuring out how to route a question to an actual expert.
Almost all Gartner advisory and analyst hiring is for Director-or Sr. Director-level roles, usually hiring people with 10-25 YOEs and therefore real SME experience and cred. The advisor job is completely different from consulting. Furthermore, the Research (which includes advisory) and Consulting businesses at Gartner are different P&Ls run in totally different ways.
