So....animal crossings, anyone?
Hi I've joined Harman in May but hasn't been assigned to any project yet. I've asked hr and reporting manager they said they're working on it and there's nothing to be worried about However I just want to know if there's anything I should be concerned about what's the bench policy? Dang. URI just beat Okla. 😭😭
Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.
https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491
My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

I’m not sure it matters at 4,5 weeks. You are still able to fly comfortably and not needing special accommodations. Disclose if you like, but this is still very early in a pregnancy
Talk with doctor to understand medical constraints (like 8 hr of sleep per night). Would be up front on those with the team so that you can manage accordingly.
Disclose it and be open with the team, and of course you can ask them to keep it confidential.
When I was pregnant with my first child, I flew east to west coast (6+ hrs each way) every week for 6 months. I was fine. Was a low risk pregnancy and my biggest concern was getting enough sleep/ coping with jet lag. If you encounter complications or major morning sickness that’s another question. But otherwise the general guidance is that it’s fine to travel regularly until into the 3rd trimester. You can ask for whatever accommodations you think make sense for your health, but your travel situation doesn’t sound highly unusual as is.
Congratulations!
I think it’s considered safe to fly before week 36 of pregnancy. At the end of the project (if it’s truly only 12 weeks), you’ll be well under that in terms of weeks pregnant.
Also, I suggest speaking with your healthcare professional about your pregnancy and flying concerns.
I had asked her about taking a 10 hour flight abroad at 21 weeks (baby moon) and she told me there were no issues with flying. Just to try and grab an aisle so you could walk around and make sure to drink water. I also wore compression socks just to avoid feet swelling.
My director flew to India late in her second trimester with no issue either. You’ll be good!
I’ve never been pregnant myself but all of my female colleagues I know of have traveled until well into their 7th or 8th month without issue. Obviously, that early, someone likely hasn’t mentioned they are pregnant.
You are under no obligation nor can you be penalized in anyway if you decide NOT to communicate your pregnancy. That said, it is entirely your discretion, however, I would advise you AGAINST doing so.
The problem is the alternative (demanding off the project since OP clearly wants off) with no given reason is likely to look way worse.
100% her choice whatever she decides to do.
Is this your first pregnancy? You may not know yet whether you'll have to contend with first trimester nausea... 5 flight would have been miserable for me. Otherwise it's safe to say fly.
Congrats! The only advice you should listen to in here is to ask your doc. Everyone is different. My wife is at 16 weeks and was recommended (not strictly told not to) to only do flights shorter than 2 hours. She also has a minor blood-clotting condition so that played a part. You prob don’t have this specific condition but only your doc knows given your specific situation. Have you had all your bloodwork done yet?
Yeah nobody on this app is qualified to tell you whether it's safe. Trust yo doc and how you feel. Health first!
This project requires me to travel every week and will last for 3 months.. please suggest
Ask your doctor. Tell your team if/when it becomes an actual issue either for medical concern or discomfort.
Also, you may be able to arrange a reduced travel schedule.
This assumes you want to be on the project in general
