One of my New Year's resolutions is to really focus on time management. I tend to let my mind wander too much, but when I've been able to focus I just feel like I'm accomplishing so much more. I'm hoping to get a better handle on my schedule and workload and maximize my use of time.

That's a good goal. I also struggle with time management and get very far down rabbit holes before I realize it's not helpful.

Happy New Year everyone. I am working really hard towards a promotion this year and therefore, a raise. I have been busitng my butt at work to show that I am ready for the next level and this is the year its going to happen.

In 2025, I’d love to take on a big project that pushes me out of my comfort zone and helps me grow professionally. Here’s to leveling up this year!

So this dude asked me late last night if I wanted to call him and said he needed someone to talk to while working late..told me to let him know if I had a guy over then he’ll talk to someone else. I didn’t have a guy over and not that kind of person so why assume that? It pisses me off.

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?
