Has anybody pivoted from accounting to a Business Analyst position? Been casually looking at potential jobs that can utilize an accounting background. Open for input regarding that type of position or other jobs that benefit from an accounting background that isn’t accounting as well.

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Looking through big 4 transparency salaries… does Baker Tilly just have awful pay for tax or is it just too small of a sample? Why do they pay 10-25% lower than all other firms?

Can anybody speak to how much they pay tax managers MCOL?

If you make it to senior manager at big four can you leave and become partner or director at mid size firm? Is this hard to do? I know there is a lot of politics at big four and have no interest staying in a senior manager role for 6-8 years and risk a chance of still not becoming partner. Also I got a long way to go before senior manager fyi.
