Honestly, I know the odds of a bill like this being successful anytime soon are extremely unlikely but I love the idea of someone trying. I feel like this bill will at least get us started having the four day work week conversation. Studies prove the 32 hour work week increases productivity and improves employee satisfaction. It is a win, win for everyone to make this change.
That sounds good if you are working for a fixed salary. But if you are paid per hour of work, then I don't think everyone will agree. Some employees even request for overtime just to create extra income.
I believe the implication is that overtime would start at 32 hours as well so that would benefit those hourly workers as well.
Seeing as we all have work weeks over 40 hrs, I'm not sure how this is going to impact anything .. other than shoring up another crazy senator's re-election campaign. Time to retire, Bernie!
