Has anyone left a job where they owed back a bonus paid for relocation? Was it pro-rated and how, or how was that handled? I've done this before but this time it seems a bit less obvious how much I will owe and I am trying to start planning.
Does anyone have any insight on Worldwide Commercial Business group at Microsoft? Looking to exit to industry as a PM and wondering if this is a good place to start? Not concerned with salary as of right now, just focused on building resume and strong skillset.
If you had to pay the firm back for a sign-on bonus, or something of that nature, because you left the firm voluntarily. Did you pay it back?
I’m a recent transplant into the industry coming from Tech. Was hired for my software skills, but I am now doing market research and generating trade ideas as well. Expectation is I will be trading as soon as I get up to speed. My desk (global macro) manages ~$1B. I sort of jumped in without setting expectations on bonus, and I don’t know what to expect / how I should negotiate if PM tried to lowball me (granted we do well this year). Any advice would be appreciated!
Free resource that shares what Tech companies are paying their salespeople (you have to add your comp to get access). Dat AWS comp tho 👀👀👀.

So, men are appearing in makeup ads now? I personally don't feel comfortable with it but I want to know the other side. No hateful comments please, I'm not being disrespectful, just trying to see what others think of it.
Does a PhD in computer science make it any easier to get jobs at big tech companies versus only having a Masters? I know that I want to eventually work at a company like Google or Salesforce and I feel I have a long road to get there coming out a Masters program with not much work experience. I hear people say that a PhD is generally only for those interested in academia/research but then I see job postings at companies like VMware that want people with a PhD. So it makes me wonder?
Experience lateraling as a first year? I’ve seen a couple posts and comments referencing it but all are from a while ago and wanted to post myself in case any other first years have lateraled since then. Currently in a general corporate group. Always had a specialized area of interest (e.g., tech transactions) and wondering about trying to lateral into another firm/group that does that work. Don’t feel my firm is generally a good fit. Pretty miserable; know the grass isn’t completely greener tho

I’m about to start applying for editor jobs (preferably at post houses) and I’m wondering what the interview process is like. Is it more of a ”they look at your resume and website and hire you if they like what they see“?, Or is there an actual interview process? If so, what is the interview process like? Is it the generic “tell me a of a time when you exceeded expectations” crap? or more chill? Any input/in experience in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I'm considering to pursue executive MBA, open for Indian or international B Schools

invited me to hang out with them and some of their other friends at a game bar today. they’re only in the city temporarily and it feels very platonic, so it wouldn’t be weird if i go right? i get a buzz by being around attractive people just like everyone else but would never cheat on my bf

I’m sure people here have been in a situation where they were looking for another job while they were pitching some big ideas with their current agency. These are ideas you’d be proud to have in your book.
If one of these ideas was sold and you started getting offers from other places, what did you do? Did you stick around and see the work through or did you accept the offer and ask to be credited to some degree? Did you regret your decision or was there anything you wish you did differently?
I’ve been asked to pitch in on a gift for a supervisor who’s leaving. No price point was recommended because the people invited range from juniors to EVPs. I’m at an associate level, only been at the company for 6 months, BUT this person did have a hand in getting my resume seen. Any idea what I should pitch in?
Is it more or less ass just kissing to send an email to thank interviewers for their time when all you did was deliver a presentation?
Do you have defined and internally communicated creative standards/philosophy at your agency? If yes, what is it?
I applied to a job via online portal, then later got a referral link from a friend of a friend. I can’t reapply using the referral link. Do I withdraw my original application and apply again?
Got offered a position at another agency, title promotion and close to 30% salary increase. I do love my current agency but it feels stupid not to take this right? I guess I’m just nervous about going somewhere new.
I’ve been at my current agency for a few years now, it was my first job out of college. I’ve never been truly happy here but in the past few weeks I’ve been really miserable. My biggest issue is that what I do now is so niche that while I’m doing a good job, it hasn’t prepared me to work anywhere else. I’m always looking for new jobs but worry about losing the stability of what I have, however I know the longer I stay the less likely I’ll be to find something else.
Looking to go in-house ASAP in nyc. Prefer personal care beauty brands and/or food/beverage to fitness. Any leads?
If I’m applying for new jobs less than a month after starting one (role dramatically different than represented in interview process) should I be leaving current job section of applications blank? I didn’t put it on my resume because I haven’t done anything yet, but will be open in interviews if asked and also have the current job on social media.
Any ADs start their career later than the typical AD?
I’m almost 33, just landed my first full time jr role after portfolio school. I’m terrified of being phased out.
I feel like my concepts/thoughts/feedback won’t be considered bc of my experience in combination with my age.
Im thankful for the work and the opportunity, just feeling less than, especially bc life outside of work is lacking bc of sacrifices made.
Should I find mentors? Find a tangible/eventual career trajectory/pivot?
Depends on the company. I've been one place where it was pro-rated. Another company had a policy never to pursue. If the company is large there is likely a company policy in place as to how this is managed.
I don't want to give too many details about it because it seems very unique but it only goes into pro-rate after a certain time which is what has me a bit stumped. Guess I'll find out!
