When I left my last firm with negative vacation, they took it out my final paycheck

I don't know if anyone who was asked to pay their vacation back. I'm always on an accrual mission so that I can get paid once I head out.

How do they pay you out based on your vacation? We don't have an hourly rate so do a certain number of days = one work week?

They paid me the last week I worked and a separate in lieu of notice payment. And both pay checks did not take it out

Your 80 hours = 1 pay check. I assume that gets prorated. I might be wrong.

Thanks EY1

It was pro rated. But vacation was not deducted. They said the day I left the debt collectors would contact me but it's been awhile already lol

Should hv moved your PTO hours to GAA or PRD or some internal code 😉

If they said a collector would contact you, trust that they will contact you. Lol. If we are talking about a day or 2 they might let it go. If you owed a week or more, they will get it from you.

Can you refer me to Amex?

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)

Desperate for help from HR experts!

According to California Law, employers must pay unused vacation. Each year, we are given 33 days of holidays, no accrual. I was just laid off and my employer only paid half of my vacation because it’s mid year. Is this legal?

In hibob it says I had 32.5 days accrued.

Thanks for your help!

Burnout is because you did something consistently for an extended period. You can do quick fixes like go on vacation, get some sleep, exercise more. But they may only help temporarily, depending on your level of Burnout.

Try adjusting your approach to work / life to a more sustainable, and ideally, enjoyable balance.

But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

Hi Everyone!

A company has made an offer and I wanted to understand if i'm being made a fool.

The monthly compensation is 1,37,500 (16,50,000 yearly) and Variable component (Bonus) is 1,50,000.

However in the offer it says "You shall be paid an annual compensation of Rs. 16,50,000/- per annum Cost to Company."

Which to me sounds like it doesn't consider 1,50,000 to be a part of CTC which is suspicious to me.

How should I deal with this?

Thank you!
