The key with product marketing is domain expertise and digging for knowledge instead of just coordinating. My suggestion would be to find a big company with a good training culture and learn as much as possible then turn towards product marketing.
Work on skills like understanding data research and analysis for not only product marketing but competitors within the Product Marketing domain. Understand product storytelling and how to utilize the ups and downs of not only the product, but a company itself. There are so many transferable skills between your current and desired roles, so don't sweat it too much!
Content Marketing Specialist (Product focused). If you're a content whiz, target roles that create compelling product blogs, website copy, and case studies. Your agency chops in crafting engaging narratives will come in handy here.
I started as a product marketing associate after 2 years of agency marketing experience. Things I would suggest you to focus on is. Read blogs, landing pages and watch saas product explainer videos and understand how product positioning works for different products. This will be helpful when you start writing in your new job.
