Has anyone raised a baby/child while still teaching? Can it be done? I’m worried about money for childcare and fitting it all in schedule wise. I don’t want to derail my career, but a baby is a baby!

I have an 8 year old and a 3 year old. It absolutely can be done! My motto... when school is out, it’s family time. Every once in a while I bring school work home but I won’t touch it until everyone’s in bed and again it is rare!

I have a 6 year old and 10 month old. It's exhausting, but definitely doable. My husband is a cop so his schedule works well with mine so we don't spend a fortune on day care. Finding a good day care was the hardest part, honestly. I don't bring work home and I do my best to focus on my own kids when I'm home with them.

I’m in my 16th year teaching and I have a 13, 12, and 8 year old. It can be done. Just like every other career, it requires balance. In fact, I feel like Teaching is a great career for parenting because I have a lot more time with my kids that I would in other careers.

Yes, it can be done. Make sure you have a good support group of friends and family who can be there when you have to work. Also including your principal and colleagues by letting them know helps a great deal. It will be hard at times, but you can fo it.

I'm about to have a baby and feel the same way. I'm thinking I might not go back 😩

Getting over heartbreak and having a full time job is torture lol. My boyfriend and I just broke up after almost a year of being together. It was such a beautiful relationship but ultimately he just didn’t love me. I love him so much. My mind knows that I deserve reciprocal love and I’m worthy, but I feel physically ill. My body hurts, my stomach is in knots, my head hurts. How is it that I have to mend a broken heart but also meet my billable hours lmao

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>

Any tips for hard launching partners on social media? For context, I’ve (Indian American female) been dating my white American boyfriend for 3 years and we just got engaged after two years of convincing my parents. They are very happy and excited now, but I’m scared shitless about being ostracized / judged by my extended family and Indian community in the US once I “let the cat out of the bag” on the engagement news. I want to be proud and confident about this but could use some moral support.

Question: Girl friends parents finally came over for a ristha. Everything went great or so I thought but now she wants to time to think about moving forward. The pain point she brought up is that we are in different states and she is feeling pressed. Although in that time she has started communicating less and I literally had to beg her to get on face time. My gut says she wants to end it but unsure. Any advice ? Lawyer Couples:
I’m currently an associate (no kids) in a very busy corp group (think 50-60 billable weekly). My wife works significantly less (currently part time, 10-15, but hopefully will be full time soon). I find myself getting upset when asked to help with basic household things (trash, cooking etc.) when she’s been lounging around watching Netflix all day. Am I being reasonable or am I a misogynist? How do you deal with one person having significantly more free time than the other?

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

For those who have taken it, are there any cheaper or alternative study materials to any official guides you would recommend? I went this route with the PHR and SHRM-SCP and passed each on the both try, so I wanted to see if that method may be viable here. Any recommended order to take courses in?
