So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Yeah, it’s a ploy to erode the gain in salary over COVID. You should call it out from a compliance standpoint. If you’re hiring remote, they can base the job in certain state to avoid these rules - but I’d push back.
And that way you at least have it documented and it you get audited you can show you did work on it. But many states it’s required, I’d also check the company policies/manual on pay transparency. It would be interesting to see if they have another on it.
Or escalate it and see if it needs to be a requirement to post. And if it is, the block req’s without ranges until they’re provided.
This is surprising to me because so many states and cities are moving toward requiring it. It's also proven that millennials and Gen Z, who are now the distinct majority in the workforce, are more likely to scroll right past a job description with no salary posted.
It’s required in my state.
13 states and DC require salaries be in job postings.
I always do
Good
It's a requirement in my state
Typically, these postings and ranges are lies anyway that don't reflect current pay scales. That's why they're covered in caveats.
