The CCO is a super talented creative and a really nice dude. Can’t say that about too many CCOs.
-Office culture is dry non existent
-Menno is excellent and will hopefully change the quality of work coming out of the agency. He’s very close to the process on all brands.
-Work life balance seems to be good for most producers - not so much for creatives
-Production budgets are usually tiny (under 200k)
-Don’t expect and training or mentorship at all in the production dept
-Morale currently is low due to continuous exodus of producers, creatives, and PMs
Here we go again
Run. 5 producers have quit in the past 5 weeks. That says it all.
Menno definitely expect a lot from producers. More than he expect from creatives that keep bringing recycled and ripped off ideas and he seems to be ok with. The culture is currently bad. It wasn't always like that. I said here we go againg because we had a nasty tread last week that was a display of how toxic the environment currently is. Menno is not an asshole though he is just a disappointment as a creative leader.
A lot of churn as it tries to drastically improve the creative reputation. Some people are being pushed out. Others are feeling pushed because of that, even if they aren't. Things should be way better in a year with lots of new blood added to the team, which is probably why you're being interviewed.
It is what you make it. Everyone leaves agencies for different reasons. Unless you work at WK you’ll see good and bad reviews about every agency. I suggest you see for yourself and make up your own mind.
360i 5 had an almost unbiased review
About 10 supersmart people who could really help your career. You have to tolerate the rest. That's like any agency. New creative group trying to make a social agency actually good. Need a strong opinion and gotta like huge challenges.
I've been here for 3+ yrs. I'll say this, production turnover blows because the lead is awesome. Colin is a hard working, considerate, and positive guy. I know the team well. Production turnover is as follows: 1 left bc their bf moved, 1 left bc she hit 4 years and felt compelled to keep moving, 1 because was unhappy with a shitty client, 2 got offers that were too good to turn down because of great campaigns they worked on
I would encourage you to go on the interview. Check it out for yourself. Producers leave by 6pm if they're not in production and their work is done. Colin is a cool guy to work for and well connected in the industry. Menno and the ECDs are heavily involved so those connections are useful too. Go there for content, experiential or new tech. If your background is product or traditional (b'cast and print), your expertise will be under utilized. Like any agency there's politics, childish antics here and there and bouts of turn over. But while others are having layoffs, 360i has a bustling media side that's keeping the lights on. So if you're amongst the hundreds that have been laid off in the industry in the last 3mos, production at 360i is probably a safe bet: given their recent losses they won't want more. If anything their desperation will be good for salary negotiations.
I had mostly positive experiences freelancing there but overall it’s very feast or famine between teams when it comes to budget, talent and project quality. Maybe more so than at other agencies the star teams and groups are treated like kings while the rest of the staff makes content calendar posts on a shoe string budget. The creatives are generally younger and pretty cheery, but they deal with near constant organizational reshuffling. Good office and a good location if you’re coming from most of BK
He is not. He's super cool. A lot of cool people left.
Yo 360i8, really great POV, well stated. I am sure I know you personally and secretly wonder who some of the folks behind the names are, but I couldn't have said it better myself
Is Adam Gloo still there ? He was always pretty cool
I don't have the #s directly, so take this w a grain of salt, but I'd day at least 2-3 Producers and 2 Project Managers
Account is WEAKand junior social Clients don't know good from bad shit. Its like trying to sell and make work via text messages. Producers and creative sticking together tho system doesn't make it easy.
Good people. Love Colin. Love Menno. Love many. But absolutely zero pushback on clients...they never hear the word “no.” Seems to be embedded in the culture across accounts. It’s insane.
You should search previous threads on the topic of the recent Agency A-List.
I’ve read the threads - just wondering what the office culture is like / hours / etc. @360i1 - what you sayin?
