I’m your SM. See you tomorrow.
try not to be an idiot. taking a day off every 5-10 days on short notice for an extended period of time is going to get noticed.
Just don’t use the medical excuse anymore. Say you have a personal commitment that you can’t move and need to accommodate. And try to schedule interviews on fridays when you are already back from the client site
Plan better. Don’t waste time for ones that aren’t really promising. Book them on Friday’s or do virtual. Leaving early every week or two on short notice is disruptive and unfair to your team (particularly since it’s not actually medical)
Wow, what an ass.... I’d just say... “sounds reasonable assuming this becomes a regular thing, but I would like to remain on the project for now”
Is it possible to schedule interviews on Fridays to not interrupt travel?
I actually have a weekly Dr’s appt and I work with my team to fly back for it 3/4 weeks. If they are Friday’s it’s really non of your team’s business if you have a weekly appt.
I have a team member that worked only remotely due to a medical issue, so I think most folks are accommodating when it’s legit, but I’m guessing his manager doesn’t believe it’s medical anyway
Why not schedule interview on Friday?
You travel 5 days per week?
Sexually transmitted disease? The heck is std?
Yes, that’s what STD is for...but there’s a process to qualify for it (has to be certified by your doc, has to be an ongoing condition, etc.). It can’t just be used in place of PTO or sick leave. The original comment sounded like the OP’s manager was suggesting that s/he use it that way, but an auditor would nix that right away if all the paperwork isn’t in place.
may want to consider STD or some other leave type or rolling off if i need to continue to take a day off this frequently (once every 5-10 days).
Are you taking off PTO the whole day? Just block out the time of the interview and work remote (or pretend to) the rest of the day.
