I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.

I was in this same boat moving from recruiting to DEI. I had to get approval before I moved but started the conversation saying how interested I was in the new role/area, how it fits into my plan to grow at the company, and that the skills I learned on my former team (lol a lie) and the company culture helped me feel empowered to start the conversation
Ohhhh I want to do this as well. Not sure that my current manager would actually support it.
Mine was not supportive at all! But you have to do what’s best for you and not let them project on you
