Hello everyone I wanted to see what yall think I work as a MaîtreD (banquet captain) and a hotel/Restaurant/Banquet hall little back story we get pay hourly and tips are “optional” however I’ve ran parties for a while recently the client Incharge has been telling that they were told the TIP was already included which is not (I guess the reason we rarely get any tips) and some I’ve told them it’s not included but it feels awkward telling them that, my question is WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I am too confused. On job security we all know we can't guarantee anything.

What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

Thinking of switching employers.
