What are your thoughts of switching jobs in the beginning of this recession? Would you stay if you had seniority? Current company’s a start up that has 18 months of run way but budgets are tight for next year. Acquired tons of sites and has 3000 employees. Thinking of leaving for smaller pharmas.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

I’ve been working my ass off to make it to ACD and I feel like this milestone has been all-consuming. I’m close, I can feel it. But will I be full-filled when I get there? And if so, for how long? Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. Are they lowballing me? Should I negotiate further?

Hexaware - 18 lpa + 1 lac bonus + 1 jb ( senior specialist)
Deloitte usi - 18.5 lpa + 10% bonus + 1.5 lac jb (lsa)
