Hello! I am a LGSW and have been in the field 15 years. I am wanting to leave working in public schools; I cannot take the politics any longer. I have a background working in Care Coordination for 4 years also, and then child protection for 4 years also.
I would like to be hired somewhere where I can get my LICSW supervision hrs, OR work remotely. However, I am finding most remote SW jobs want you to have your LICSW.
Any ideas on where would be a good remote job for an LGSW?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

What do you guys think about apps like BetterHelp and Talkspace? I understand they might have real therapists working on their content, but a lot of the marketing I see is so vague and broad that it feels like a lie. Seems like "This app got rid of my anxiety with a 30-minute automated text questionnaire" is the new "This tea made me lose 20 pounds in two weeks!" Just seems a little fad-like and money grabby to me. Thoughts?

What misconceptions do you think people have about social work? or therapy?
Mine is my family still believes that only "sick" or unhappy people need to see a therapist, so they don't understand why I go to one since I have a job and a family. It's oldschool thinking and pretty annoying tbh.

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?
