I think the best option for you at this point in time, might be Googles UX Certification course, I think it’s like $300.00 that’s probably one of the cheapest options to get some education and validate if it is the right step for you. You may also want to check out other UX courses on YouTube or Udemy as well before spending a lot of money on a boot camp or grad school.
From everything I have heard, most people won’t be ready for an entry level role. I think it best just to give most people an idea if it is something that they want to pursue.
However as a graphic designer your chances are considerably higher that you could get a UX Design role, with less training & certification
When I higher I put more weight on portfolio than education.
I’m looking to do the same! Happy to see I’m not alone.
We can do it! Good luck! 😊
I did a bootcamp 3 years ago and now I’m up for promo to Senior UX Designer next month! It’s very possible, but you must have the drive to build your career outside the bootcamp. It’s a lottttt more than just the basics you learn in the bootcamp, it will feel like you’re failing for a while and the imposter syndrome is real. It’s also important to take on real clients freelance to build your portfolio.
