Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. How do you handle personal investments when married? I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

Hey everyone, would 12/23 afternoon not a bad time for holiday travels? Booking for a flight for my parents from overseas to LAX ,trying to avoid crazy busy afternoon.

Everyone has a different perspective on this but would love to hear yours. Someone has debt ranging say 4-5% interest rates. Do you attack debt more then investing to move towards a debt free life or do you go after investments since they return historically above that then paying down closer towards retirement. I know the latter looks better on paper but what about the psychological factors of being debt free and the guaranteed return on interest savings.

2nd year junior attorney applying to new positions in the Southern California area. Every firm that’s called me to interview are smaller firms with salary ranges of 80-90k.
