I'm planning to put my papers in HSBC but want to get relieved at the earliest. The notice period on my offer letter is 90 days. I have two specific questions:

1. Can they adjust my remaining leaves against the notice period. (I heard they will pay for unused leaves in fnf)

2. If I plan to buy out the notice period (1-2 months) can my line manager deny the request (I don't have good relations with him). Or it will be HR decision?

When you’ve accumulated 14 days of PTO, would you measure that as 2 weeks salary (1 paycheck) if you exit the company? Or are salaried employees paid only for week days thus 14 days PTO is nearly 3 weeks of salary worth? What’s your take?

Do any of your companies offer coworking benefits? For instance if you’re fully remote, do they offer a monthly stipend to be used at coworking locations near you? Or anything similar in nature?

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?

Can anyone please let me know how many leaves (PL/CL/SL) and holidays are we entitled to in Barclays? Also can we add parents as part of the medical insurance policy? If yes then will the employee need to bear the complete premium separately?

I recently got asked in an interview “how do you keep on top of employment law, your award and fair work regulations?” Truth is I’m subscribed to mailing lists but that’s about it… I sometimes feel dumb because I forget what’s in the fair work act, I need to check it every time someone is going on parental leave… then I forget the min requirements again.
