Hi all. I’ve had a 30+ yr career in Sales and want to work for at least 5 more years before retirement. My background is in Sales Mgmt working for mfrs in Apparel and Uniforms. Roles included Dir of Sales, Reg Sales Mgr, VP Reg Sales and Nat Accts Mgr. My career has been very steady up until last 3 years. 3 job losses: 2 to private equity, 1 to insolvency of a company within 4 mos of my start. I seem to be in an “over qualified” or “background doesn’t fit” narrative with CPG or Medical.

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?

I have close to 15 years functional experience in DEI strategy, business strategy, teaching, and coaching. I have my own consulting company that focuses on DEI. As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?
