Do what SC1 is suggesting and leave 3-4weeks prior to your next start date and get PTO paid out. Quite on the first day of the month so you get health insurance coverage through the end of the month.

like

At pwc, our vacation gets paid out if you leave. So consider if you want the time off or more money in your last paycheck.

Tell your manager you're bonding with your new team at your new firm.

like

They're withheld differently but should even out when you do your taxes this coming winter.

like

If you quit they will pay out your accumulated PTO. take the cash imo

like

25% flat at time if payment but it doesn't matter bc it all evens out at tax time

like

Yes it's taxed the same as S&B

like

Salary and bonus?

like

Is it taxed like normal salary or bonus?

S&B?

^ you really couldn't piece that one together with context clues topgun?

Bingo

At D, salary and bonuses are taxed differently...

Good to know, P2. Thanks!

I think living a frugal life and aiming to retire early makes a lot of sense.

Recently, some of my family members are diagnosed with a rare diseases. When you look at the statistics, these are so many of these ‘rare’ conditions and cumulatively they are not rare.

These family members conditions made me reevaluate how I want to spend my life. I am 35 this year and I can’t decide if I should take great vacations with my kids or keep living a frugal life. Do you have the same dilemma?

Based on current environments, I’ve two hypotheses:
1. Comp packages in competitive fields will continue strongly due to: a. less supply of top talent (great resignation), b. less willingness to work demanding jobs (push for wlb), and c. Rising living costs - inflation
2. Comp packages will get readjusted…
