Just got hired as a Junior Software Engineer. I’ve worked super hard to get to where I’m at and really want to keep working hard to reach mid-senior and senior levels as soon as I can. What are some ways that I can fast track my career as a software engineer? What are things that you have done that have really paid off for you? Any advise would be super helpful

I am currently employed as an assistive technology position that was full time and was cut to part time. I am seeking expand my career possibilities. I can go to Accessibility however it seems every job requires engineering background. With that said, I prefer working with people. Looking at the screen of code is not what I find exciting.

CS and SWE is great in that it can be applicable to a great range of fields, to create immensely helpful tools for other things.

What are some areas where SWE intersects with things that help people, country, and the world? Now also add in making a decent living and generally competitive with other SWE “industry”.

Things that come to my mind are government-related, military, some fintech. Sciences have great need of computing, and can have big impact, but income is less clear.

With 1.5 YOE out of undergrad at T2 consulting, would you typically expect any tenure credit when jumping to MBB at the post-undergrad level? Or would you expect to be reset completely?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.
