i would keep an external insurance as well
once you leave the company, you'll have again 1 yr of cooling period to claim for serious diseases

I would suggest go for outside insurance-
Reason:- once you will leave the company, that insurance is no longer valid(as far as i know)
If insurance happen from outside, it's well and good.
When you go for insurance separately then they will go various test and in most of cases elderly age persons unable to cross there criteria apart from that they don't cover pre existing disease...
Choose wisely...

Take Company insurance. It's easy to get reimbursement.
I am in same situation. Planning to have both insurance, from company as well as outside(not sure if its possible)
You can convert TCS Corporate to retail one but no domi claims and again some terms and condition changes(unless you have continous enrollment for 4 years). Get a quote atleast for retail conversion and then decide.
External insurance for 60 yrs is too high...might be around 50k but for company paid it's almost 10k

This is my point of view, dnt take it personally but I want you should think about it.
what if one resigns or company fires its employee.
No company means no insurance.
And what if some urgent health issue comes up-
A person could get stuck here or would have to sell all their life long belongings/savings(as today getting a cure has become quite costlier).
Eg:-
Here is the difference, we buy cars and immediately buy its insurace(usually a first party) so we become risk free.
Some people buy insurance for phones and other gadgets.
But when we have to buy an insurance for ourself, we start calculating expenses.
