I have 6 yrs of HR exp, a PHR cert & an HRIP cert. I recently left my role as an HR Rep at a tech co b/c I was working 60+/week and the stress of the job was affecting my health. I recently received an offer at a new tech co that is $10k less than what I was previously making with comments from current EEs that this new co has a better WLB. Total comp is still a lot less than my prev company. Is less comp too much of a compromise for better WLB? What have you compromised for a better WLB?

Going to be tough with the recession as most tech sales have all but cut off hiring especially coming from auto sales. Look for bdr roles available at tech companies but you might be better off looking into other entry level sales roles in lower barrier of entry markets (e.g. advertising/marketing) to gain experience. I’m not trying to take anything away from your prior history but From personal experience I went from 5 years of extremely successful 3pl (logistics) sales to having to work 2 years at a digital SaaS startup making okay commission and mediocre salary before I could finally break into the tech world. I will say that it was worth the initial pay cut but I was still young so I was able. Either way, best of luck, and always check google etc. if they have interviewing/resume tips for the company you’re trying to get into. You’ve got this!
