@Capgemini 1, bro dont forget, you got lucky. You were able to invest and remain invested during 2020 market crash, which itself may have earned you decent profit and ever since recovering that fall, market has been going up and up. But such scenario is very unlikely to happen again.
Closing debt is always better ways because market is unpredictable. But yes, if you see any sudden dip in market, make sure that you just pay the EMI and out rest of your money in stock market and MF.

The best advice would be to learn the basics first from Zerodha Varsity, Investopedia etc. & then start investing in MF/Index funds . Avoid relying on suggestions and tweeter handles and rather gain knowledge and start DIY

I would have started investing in stocks/MFs early this year but due to less knowledgeable on the subject I was a bit afraid. Now I know where I stand, less afraid now.

How is it that so many people have so much in real estate??
Can you guys share how to grow money??
I am only 23 and would like to create a large weath.

like

Don't go real estate until you want to live in your own house.
* Don't go for home loan and buy apartment. Pay full amount to buy house/ land.
* Plan for individual houses. Villa also good. Because that would have better growth than apartment.
* Real estate growth is unpredictable and very dark area in investment. Can't predict anything and anytime. The growth is very less compared to MF.

Personal experience. I have invested 1 cr 3 yrs ago in real estate. Now the value is 12% increased. The same way, I invested in MF . Almost 60 % increased.

Hi Fishes,
Wanted some clarification.... Usually mutual funds give around 10-15% returns in long term (say 10 years). Don't stocks (large cap and traditionally safe stocks like reliance, tcs etc) also give around the same return? Is it worth the risk to directly go for stocks rather than MFs, considering the fact stocks require active monitoring?

Thanks a lot for the information everyone. Planning to start exploring ETFs. Is it advisable to invest in it in an SIP kind of way, since markets are at all time highs right now, so not sure if I should make a lumpsum investment in ETF right now.

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

Think this consolidation period is going to end in the near term, primarily driven by:

1. Microstrategy “open sourcing” their playbook for purchasing BTC as public company

2. Coinbase to offer staking for ETH in Q1 ‘21 - think how much will get locked up.

3. GME / stonks fallout - retail may moreso see the benefits of decentralization and crypto. Yes Coinbase is CEX to get you onboard, but DEX can’t be turned off.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
