Did you/would you get booster during pregnancy?
I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

I don’t think anyone will readily have statistics handy but it’s equally as common for pregnant employees as non-pregnant employees in my experience.

Every company I’ve worked at that has had mass layoffs, has laid off pregnant women and those on maternity leave. It’s legal in the US as long as you aren’t being laid off due to pregnancy. Mass layoffs where multiple positions are impacted makes that incredibly challenging/impossible to prove.
Unfortunately it’s very common. Illegal? Yes! Seek legal counsel

Yeah if the reason has nothing to do with pregnancy, like eliminating an entire department for example, then it’s legal.

Uncommon unless an entire org is cut. If they just need to slash 10% unlikely the lady on maternity leave given possible legal issues.
After the 12 weeks on mat leave you’re back on the chopping block!

Yes, it is illegal to lay off workers discriminatorily. Laying off pregnant workers or workers on leave is not inherently discriminatory.

Grant Thornton laid me off while I was on maternity leave despite having higher chargeability and multiple years of performance ratings above others that were kept in our group. To top it off, it was done a few days before my 401k match vested (its 0% vested until several years in, so lost 100% of that with their strategic timing).
Completely agree with all the comments above that there are essentially 0 protections in the US in practice, it’s virtually impossible to prove that was the reason and make any sort of case against companies.
Urgh. That sucks! Yeah I hope you fought it.
